Dental Restorations

When teeth begin to show the signs of decay our dentists can help reverse the effects and get you smiling again. Dental Restoration is about restoring your teeth to top quality and here are a few of the restorative treatments we can provide.

Cavities are a common problem caused when decay eats away at the enamel of your tooth. Getting a filling involves clearing away the decay and filling the hole with a substance that restores the tooth’s appearance and function.

If decay has eaten away a large portion of your tooth, then a crown can be recommended. First, any existing decay is removed from the tooth and then a mold is taken to craft a replacement tooth. The crown is created from this mold and cemented onto the existing tooth structure. This protects from further decay and restores the appearance and biting surface of your tooth. At Victoria Court Dental, we are pleased to provide CEREC dentistry. This allows us to use 3D imaging and 3D printing technology to craft a crown in just one visit.

An inlay prevents an alternative to a filling for when the decay might be worse. Inlays are made from gold or porcelain in a lab from a mold of your teeth. This mold is created to fit inside the area where the decay was and thus prevent further decay.

Onlay function much the same as inlays in that they are molds made in a lab to correct decay. Onlays cover a much wider section of the tooth and are used when the decay is too much for a filling or inlay to successful cover.

Dental Bridges

A dental bridge is a lab created fixture meant to replace a tooth. The bridge consists of two parts, a set of crowns and an artificial tooth. The crowns go over the teeth on either side of the missing tooth and between them is an artificial tooth that bridges the gap. This restores not just appearance, but any lack of ability the missing tooth has caused.
